What's in a name?
My Chinese professor finally got around to naming me, but I have a couple of options, and I thought I'd throw them out there for opinions. So please leave a comment to tell me what you think.
Pick one option for each syllable, and tell me why (it doesn't have to be long). Keep in mind, this may be the name I adopt for a few years.
First Syllable:
Option #1: peaceful; tranquil; safe; secure; stable
Option #2: favor, grace, benevolence, kindness
Second Syllable:
Option #1: a beautiful lady; a charming girl
Option #2: clean; spotless; pure

I would agree with lins two, one. And I will be the first to say why. I have seen you mostly as a very kind and beautiful person. I think your favor, grace, benevolence and kindness are more lasting than the qualities than the others (for the first syllable).
Okay... to expand...
I think, for the first the syllable, I choose #1 because of my comment a couple of days ago about you to you when I said that you were consistant. That consistancy is important because it offers that secure, stable feeling for me personally by having you as a friend. I think it is amazing that beyond the fact you are an amazing friend, you are someone that I will be able to rely on no matter what happens. That then produces a peaceful, tranquil feeling in my life. So the first syllable is chosen because of the emotions and feelings that you develop for me because of they way you are.
The second syllable I chose because of the person you present yourself as. I chose #1 because you are a lady. You present yourself professionally, respectfully, and honorably. This makes you an amazing, BEAUTIFUL lady. I can also see you as a charming person through various acts and characteristics you possess. I think a great deal of that charm comes through your intelligence. Although you may see yourself as an ellitist (which you are... and forgive the spelling), there is something about the fact that you can back up ALL the statements you make with [what you believe and feel strongly] is truth. I personally find that charming. Plus... I have seen your room... "clean", "spotless"?... Let's be realistic here (C:
